Senior Assembly of 1969

In June of 1969, about a week out from graduation, seniors and their parents gathered to celebrate fulfilling graduation requirements and making it through the four years of high school and to reflect on the good and the bad moments they had experienced together throughout the years.

“We reminisced about our school years,” 1969 graduate Roger Bryan said.

They told stories of their adventures and experiences from the times when they were in grade school to junior high and then on to high school, towards the end of the assembly they sang a song to conclude their gathering. The students prepared for their performances for days in advance, writing and rehearsing skits, songs and many more activities.

“We rehearsed after school, probably four or five times,” said Bryan. “The senior assembly was a very fun little half hour session that we put on for the parents.”
