Unique hikes present opportunity for traveling

Unique hikes in Washington State are a favorite for many students of Puyallup High School. A shorter and less complex hike to try is Rattlesnake Ledge.
“A unique hike I have been on is Rattlesnake Ledge because the views are amazing” sophomore Kleus Spacher said.
Rattlesnake Ledge in located in the Snoqualmie Region in North Bend Area. It also takes four miles roundtrip with a gain 1160 feet and the highest point being 2078 feet.
“Rattlesnake Ledge is so pretty because the trees and mountain around you are great and the view of the lake when you get to the top is breath taking” said Spacher.
If you are looking for a little more challenging hike then try Lake Lena.
“The most unique hike I have been on is Lake Lena because there was two or three very cool waterfalls that we went in and climbed around” sophomore Ryan Teague said.
Lena Lake is on the Olympic Peninsula, in Hood Canal. The hike takes 5 miles roundtrip with a gain of 1300ft and the highest point being 2000 feet.
“Lake Lena has been the prettiest hike I have been on because after a long hike you finally reach the Lake. You sit up about 200 feet above it on a ledge that is so peaceful and rewarding” Teague said.
If you are looking to try a more challenging hike then try Lake of Angels.
“Lake of Angels was one of most unique hikes I have been on because it has the best view at the top” sophomore Hannah McCann said. “We were walking in between two waterfalls at one point.”
Lake of Angels is located on the Olympic Peninsula, in Hood Canal. The hike is eight miles long roundtrip and has a gain of 3400 feet and has the highest point at 4950 feet.
“Lake of Angels definitely has been the hardest hike I have been on because we had to climb up rocks and were in snow at the top” McCann said. “Hikes are a great way to explore nature.”
