This tendency to live in the moment has hit me like a punch in the stomach this school year. For the last three years I’ve been told to “think of my future,” whether that means college or trade school or a job and I keep hearing how important high school is for the rest of your life. The problem with four of your teenage years dictating the rest of your life, even though you haven’t been on planet earth longer than two decades, is a whole column in itself, but let’s focus specifically on senior year.

Wherever the Viks travelled... we were right behind, ready to cheer them on. Friends would carpool away games and show up early to set up decorations for home games. Our high school football games brought us together. We wanted to show up to have a blast, to represent Puyallup with an incredible school spirit. It was so special to be able to see our community—Viking's past, present and future—come together to cheer for the success of their peers, creating memories I will never forget.
The smell of hot chocolate and elaborately decorated Christmas cookies are one of the many memories that are cherished and missed. This year being able to finally go back to our version of Holiday traditions shows how joyful the season really should be.

There are many misconceptions when it comes to mental health. When most people think of mental health their mind automatically goes to teenagers, why is that? Maybe it’s because we are so stressed out with everything we must do. We have the stress of worrying about our future, there is so much pressure for us to already know what and how we want to spend the rest of our lives, it’s kind of insane. If you're like me you stress over time, time in the day, week, month, year. I always feel like no matter what I do I will never have enough time.
