The KEY (Kiwanis Educated Youth) club held their semiannual Jive Night Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
Jive Night is a non-profit function based on the community service to Puyallup High School. Students can attend, free of charge, as well as receive free pizza and water thanks to the generous donations from the KIWANIS organization.
For the first time the KEY club invited students from Walker, Rogers and Emerald Ridge High Schools to participate.
KEY Club adviser Jessica Anderson comments on the new addition to a tradition.
“We started out small by giving the administrators at each school golden tickets to pass out to students. Whoever received the golden tickets could bring themselves and a friend down to Jive night,” Anderson said.
Hosting an event like Jive night serves to help build relationships between students by providing fun games and food to bring everyone together.
“We are all one district, all one big community. We thought that if we outreached to the other high schools then maybe that is something they would catch on to as well,” Anderson said
