The Puyallup High school and Rogers High school Key Clubs competed to raise donations for UNICEF, a children’s rights and emergency relief organization at the homecoming game on Friday Oct 30.
Mrs. Anderson, the key club advisor explains a little bit about the fundraiser.
“It is called Trick ‘r Treat for UNICEF, because key clubs usually go around on Oct. 31 to ask for donations instead of candy,” said Anderson.
Not only was there competition on the field, but also competition in the stands.
“This year, because of the homecoming game being on Halloween, we decided to have a competition with the Rogers Key Club. PHS raised $536 and RHS raised $177,” said Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson discusses future plans for fundraisers like these for the Key Club.
“I don’t know if we will do more activities like this at sporting events; it depends on what the key club members want to do and what organizations we raise money for,” said Anderson.
