P!nk came out with her eighth studio album, Hurts 2B Human, April 26. The album features artists such as Khalid and Chris Stapleton.

The lead single, “Walk Me Home,” makes me think of songs I’ve heard in the past, however it puts a new spin on cliche pop music. It seems to be a little bit more acoustic in comparison to what I would usually expect from a P!nk album.

The collaboration with Khalid on “Hurts 2B Human,” is oddly reminiscent of her song, “Beautiful Trauma,” from her last album. The two songs seem to connect in a way that could either be intentional or purely coincidental.

“Love Me Anyway” is her collaboration with Chris Stapleton, which already led me to believe that this was not going to be a cliche pop song. It reminds me of when I used to listen to country music with my dad. It definitely has a more country feel to it, and this wouldn’t be the first time that P!nk has successfully collaborated with a country artist. She collaborated with Kenny Chesney in the song, “Setting The World On Fire” in 2016.

My favorite song from the album is “The Circle Game.” It starts off with intentionally quiet vocals and piano and builds up until the chorus. Because of that, it adds more emotion to the song. Although the emotional ballad differs from Pink’s stereotypical song, I prefer the more acoustic and unfiltered vocals.

This album may be different from what P!nk has done before, but it also lets her vocals shine more than they ever have in the past. It introduces a different side of her that we haven’t really seen before.

Hurts 2B Human is overall one of my favorite albums from P!nk, and will be added to my ever growing list of favorite albums.
