New teacher Christyna Paris joins the PHS Viks

For new Pre-AP and AP chemistry teacher Christyna Paris, several factors contributed to the direction her life took.

Paris says the impact that teachers have on students is the reason why she was inspired to be a teacher.

“Teachers have such an opportunity to influence the future and every day is different so there is a variety and knowing that you will have an impact,” Paris said.

Paris says that teaching was always something she wanted to do but it was always a question of what type of teacher and what subject.

“I’ve always wanted to be a teacher but I really wanted to be an English teacher,” Paris said. Until I realized that science teachers simply have more fun. They get to burn things. Experiment fascinated me.  I have always wanted to teach but teaching science is something I figured out when I was in college as an English major,” Paris said.
