Fire leaves instruments unharmed

The recent fire in the Puyallup Fair did not damage any of the instruments from Spinning Elementary, Firgrove Elementary and Zeigar Elementary being held there, according to Executive Director of Communications Brian Fox.

“The fire did not get in and damage [the instruments] so I was thrilled that nothing got burned. That was quite a bit of money’s worth of instruments, at least in the tens of thousands of dollars,” Fox said.  “However there was some water [from the firefighters] that got into some of the drums and into some of the bags, so the instruments are being sent back to each of the directors to examine. I do not think there is water damage but we are just checking to make sure nothing warped. We are really relieved that it did not burn but we are checking for water damage and hoping all will be fine.”
