Wednesday, on what was supposed to be the first day of school, teachers had their first day of striking in response to their pay raises. While teachers picketed outside of their respective schools, members of the district, the Puyallup Educators Association and a mediator began the bargaining process to try and reach of a tentative agreement, of which was not met. Teachers will continue to strike until one is reached. We interviewed Spanish teacher Marla Boyd-Adkinson to gain more insight into the matter.
