The Native American Student Union, advised by Britt Coleman, met on October 7th, 2025 to discuss upcoming events and plans.
“We were thinking of Monday field trips to Chief Leschi because they do their community circles then,” senior Goose Anderson said. “We were hoping to branch out to the culinary clubs to test out Native American recipes and hand them out.”
Additionally, NASU brainstormed ideas for Native American Heritage month.
When there are not any activities planned for the meeting, NASU shares their insights and experiences with pressing topics such as harmful stereotypes. For instance, they talked about how Native American headdresses are frequently appropriated, especially on Halloween.
