The PHS Volleyball team has had successful season so far this season. The Lady Viks are 5-1, as of press time, so far this year in league and have grabbed a tie for first place with Bellarmine Prep High School.
However the Vikings delivered Bellarmine Prep’s only loss to them, putting them on top of the league with two games to play. One of those games, against Olympia High School, will have already been played by the time the newspaper is published, check SPSL.org for the score.
The other game left on the schedule is against the Wolves of South Kitsap, who were second to last in the SPSL at press time.
With wins in each of the last two games, PHS will secure the top seed going into the SPSL tournament. The tournament will take place next week Oct. 26-29, the sites are TBD. If PHS wins their first game, they will advance to the district tournament.
The district tournament will take place Nov. 4-5 at Kentwood High School. the district consists of the top six teams from the SPSL tournament, the top 10 teams from the North Puget Sound League (NPSL) and the top three teams form the Greater Saint Helens League (GSHL).
PHS’ seed will depend on their ranking coming out of the SPSL tournament. The top eight teams from the District tournament will move on to the State tournament, that will be held in the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA.
