Puyallup’s varsity boys basketball team has had a successful season heading into playoffs with a final regular season record of 13-3 in league and 15-5 overall.
Puyallup won their final game of the season against South Kitsap with a final score of 63-56. This win ultimately gave the Vikings the best record in the league and won first place.
Puyallup’s biggest win this season was Dec. 26 where the boys put up 86 points to Lincoln High School’s 31 points. The team’s largest was against Olympia High School on Jan. 31 with a final score of 41-71. Olympia also beat Puyallup earlier in the season on Jan. 4 with a score of 61-87, Olympia swept the season series going 2-0 vs Puyallup.
Puyallup has a total of six seniors, four juniors and one freshman on the varsity lineup, Taki Uluilakepa.
Junior Cobi Campbell is the team’s leading scorer averaging 19 points a game. Campbell wears number three and plays guard. Campbell’s dad, Scott Campbell, is the head coach of the team and has been on the coaching staff since 2008.
