With 2015-2016 ASB elections coming to an end, PHS welcomes a new team of officers to lead next year. Elections were held April 28. Each candidate had prepared a speech and presented to the sophomore and junior classes.

Junior Sam Ebner ran for ASB President.

“I decided to run for president because I thought I was ready for the next step after being ASB treasurer. I would love to just make the school even better than it is in any way that I can,” Ebner said.

Junior Beau Pasquier also ran for ASB President.

“I decided to run for ASB President because I have always liked being a part of leadership in the school. I have been part of the leadership in junior high; I was ASB Treasurer and I was finally able to apply for a position in the high school. I love being able to help teach or inspire people to do their best. I thought ASB would be a great opportunity to do that,” Pasquier said.

Pasquier shares his ideas on something he would like to change.

“One change I would like to make during my time as an officer is to advocate for passes to go to Thr3e. I believe that students should be allowed to go across the street to buy bagels or drinks that you cannot get at The Wall or The Viking Blend,” Pasquier said. “Allowing students to go to Thr3e would lessen the number of detentions and could even benefit our ASB budget by selling passes. Students should be able to obtain passes some way, whether it is being a good student or paying a few dollars for them to get a pass for a month or even winning the small contests we have during lunch on spirit days. It would be something I would like to change because I believe it would benefit the students and school alike.”

Junior Noah McFadden ran for ASB Vice President.

“I decided to run for Vice President because I wanted to get involved in my high school. Sure that is cliché but I just thought that it would be a great way to end out my high school career not only for myself but my school,” McFadden said.

McFadden shares his ideas on something he would like to change.

“One change that I would like to make is just more excitement out of everyone to be at PHS and be proud to say that they are a Viking,” McFadden said.

Junior Noah Fenz ran for ASB Vice President.

“I decided to run for Vice President because I want to make high school as enjoyable as possible for every student. I want to find a way to make it possible for every student to enjoy each and every day of school. I understand high school has its rough days and tough moments, so my goal is to make everyone’s time here awesome,” Fenz said.

Fenz shares his ideas on something he would like to change.

“I do not have a certain or specific change in mind but any change that is beneficial to the students of PHS I am up for doing,” Fenz said.

Sophomore Zoe Brown ran for ASB Vice President.

“I decided to run for Vice President because I really want to make a change and I feel like having to chance to represent our school could open so much doors for not only me but ‘us’ as a whole,” Brown said.

Brown shares her ideas on something he would like to change.

“One thing I want to change is the exclusivity. What I mean by that is making everyone feel welcomed and comfortable and having the whole school feel like a whole. Making it so that every day each student and staff member can feel appreciated. Also, we have not really had much female leadership and I would love to be another great lady in the Viking ASB Hall of Fame such as Kelty [Pierce] because she is such a great role model and that is something that I strive to be towards others,” Brown said.

Junior Hannah McCann ran for ASB Treasurer.

“I decided to run because I wanted to become involved in our school and I had watched our previous brilliant officers do a great job at it which enthused me to be a part of such a strong group,” McCann said.

McCann shares her ideas on something he would like to change.

“A change I would want to make is to make sure the school has their input and views on certain issues and problems being contemplated,” McCann said.

Sophomore Xander Waits ran for ASB Treasurer.

“I decided to run because I want to be a big part of PHS. I want to get involved. What a better way to do so than running for ASB? You get to rep the students and work together with the other officers to better students experience as they go through the year,” Waits said.

Waits shares his ideas on something he would like to change.

“As an ASB officer I would like to work on student involvement. Involved students have better high school experiences than other. This could be involved in a sport, a certain class, a club, coming to sports games the list goes on. I would want to tighten our Viking community, bringing people closer. To all work towards having a better three years,” Waits said.

Junior Kennedy Robillard ran unopposed for ASB secretary.

“I wanted to run for secretary because I love being a part of something bigger in the school. I joined leadership this last year and got to see and participate in all the behind the scenes work for assemblies, recognition pieces and events that our school runs. I also became great friends with the current secretary, Pierce and got to observe her role. She is an incredible person and I cannot wait to try and continue her legacy,” Robillard said.

Robillard shares her ideas on something he would like to change.

“During my term I would like to continue to improve the communication at PHS. It has gotten a lot better in the past year but I feel like it is still missing that final piece. I want everyone to have a great experience at high school and have all of the same opportunities. Not everyone hears about all the fun things we do because the word is not spread well enough. My goal is to help make everyone feel comfortable and welcome in our school,” Robillard said.
