Last season the boys tennis team finished in third place in the SPSL with only two seniors on the roster.

Senior Logan Oyama will be a four year varsity player for the tennis team and as he comes into his final year, he says he’s excited for what to come,

“I’m really looking forward to this season because We have a really strong group of guys and I think we will do even better than last year,” Oyama said.

Last year Oyama and junior Danny Dixon made it the furthest in the playoffs. The tennis team has set many goals and expectations this year as they hope to come out on top of the SPSL.

“We have a lot more this experience this year and we will be way more consistent I personally would like to bring more intensity to this team,” senior Sam Cardwell said.

The team is currently 2-0 in league and 3-1 overall and they are sitting in third place in the SPSL.

“We have a lot of seniors this year and all of us are all trying to do our own part and take this season seriously. I think we have something special this year so we should be able to do something good,” Oyama said.

The team has prepared a lot during the off-season by competing in tournaments and training with each other. Coach Brooks Hazen added hit arounds during summer so they could hit with each other and create chemistry with the team.
