The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Executive board voted on Monday to amend the schedule to the 2020-2021 sports season. This decision will push back the start of season two to Feb. 1, from its original start date of Jan. 1. Along with this push back, all seasons have been cut down to only seven weeks in length.

The updated schedule will be:

Season 2: Feb. 1– March 20  Traditional Winter Sports-

Basketball, Bowling, gymnastics, boys swim and dive, wrestling

Season 3: March 15 — May 1   Traditional Fall Sports-

Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, girls soccer, girls swim and dive, volleyball, golf, boys tennis

Season 4: April 26 — June 12   Traditional Spring Sports-

Baseball, dance/drill, softball, boys soccer, girls tennis, track and field

This decision came in light of the surging COVID-19 cases around the state, putting the original start date of Jan. 1 in jeopardy.
