Nine boy wrestlers qualify for state

Senior wrestler Tucker Hanson qualified for State at regionals Feb. 13.

Last year Tucker attended the State tournament as an alternate.

“As a senior it is a big deal to me and my family that I qualified for State this year,” Tucker said.

As a senior these will be Tucker’s last high school matches. After three years of wrestling in Puyallup’s program, Tucker had various things to say about the system.

“The atmosphere at Puyallup is completely different from any other school. All of our wrestlers have an outstanding work ethic and it really paid off this weekend,” Tucker said.

Puyallup went on to have nine boys qualified for the State tournament. Tucker finished his high school career with a fourth place finish at State. Other wrestlers that attended the tournament were Josh Franich, Nolan Martinez, Cohen Cleek, Jace Coulter, Kyler Cramer, Spencer Hanson, Nick Voss and Garrison Webking.
