Practice makes perfect for these debate novices attending the debate Talk-a-thon Oct. 25. With the help of upperclassmen as the judges, these newcomers prepped their skills for the upcoming debate tournament Nov. seventh and eighth against Gig Harbor High School.
“This group goes to tournaments generally a couple of weekends per month. . . [in] July and August [students] are preparing already for the next year and those going to nationals are competing up until June. It’s a pretty big year,” adviser Taylor Reynolds said.
