T-Mobile Park, formerly known as Safeco Field) officially opened on July 15, 1999, when the Mariners played their first game at T Mobile. It has a capacity of 47,929 spanning through sections 102-347, and is known for it’s unique retractable roof that takes approximately 15 minutes to cover the field. The 22 million pound roof spans 9 acres while relying on 96 motors to travel between opened and closed.
T-Mobile park is one of the only ballparks left in the MLB with a hand operated scoreboard, which is located in left field. The Giant electronic jumbotron is a marvelous sight spanning 209 feet wide. The chandelier of bats upon entrance is another spectacular piece of artwork here at T-Mobile park. T-Mobile park is known for its stunning view of the city from the concourse located near the home plate entrance. The Mariners team store is massive with the main floor having all the merch and Mariner items you could ask for. The top part has memorabilia from all sorts of Mariners players and famous moments. You can access the team store just inside the leftfield entrance on the third base side or the open door on the third base side with street access.
Food at the T-Mobile park is one of the most affordable stadiums to get food with the mariners offering value menus and all sorts of cool unique foods and treats specific to T-Mobile park like the mariner mouse mousse and chick chick boom chicken strips. The pen located in left-center field is another cool area for fans to hangout and watch the starting and relief pitchers warm up before and during the game, there is also concessions
down by the pen.
